Hello I’m Peter.
I don’t know about you but I always like to put a face to a name, so here is mine. This photo was taken in the summer of 2016 on the Gaspe Peninsula high atop a hiking trail overlooking the St. Lawrence seaway and Atlantic ocean. The wonderful woman with me is my beloved partner of almost 30 years, Andrea.
I spent over 35 years working in the hospitality, winery sales, marketing, and events business before accepting a full-time teaching position at Niagara College in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario. I have been teaching sessionally for the International Sommelier Guild and Wine and Spirits Education Trust for many of the last 20 or so years. I’m a certified sommelier (1991), hold the WSET Diploma (1998) and am just about to complete the final stage of my CWE (Certified Wine Educator) accreditation through the Society of Wine Educators. Learning excites me and I see every day as an opportunity to improve myself and to give back something of use to those around me.
